Money management can be a foreign language for many. Net worth, assets, depreciation, interest rates, APR, and other financial terms mean little to those individuals not working within the financial and investment sectors.

Offering early courses to help educate consumers about these concepts has shown little help in improving understanding. However, it is possible to introduce money management to people who see they are struggling. It is especially effective for those who have goals in mind; such as getting out of debt or saving for retirement.

But even motivated individuals need a starting point to help launch their financial adventure. And knowing where you currently stand is an important step to making the changes needed to achieve financial understanding and, hopefully, a bit of freedom.

Take this five-question quiz to determine how you currently work with your money, complete with links to help you build your knowledge and take on the next steps.
